The shine of a city, so often a mask hiding the darkness that lurks just beneath the surface.A place where people come to forget and where dreams go to die.The bright lights a siren's call, luring you in.But beware, for this city will chew you up and spit you out.It's a jungle out there, and only the strong survive.

In 1892, the Geyser Ice Company was established in Waco, a grand complex producing ice from the fresh waters of an artesian well. Today, things have changed.

This monolith, this monument to ingenuity and resourcefulness, sits idle, wasting away. Marred by vandals, tagged by graffiti artists, left open to the harshest nature and man can throw at it. Once this building provided, today, sits, unloved, unused, thanklessly left to slowly rot.

Street photography is an interesting and unique challenge; capturing a fleeting moment, an instant insight into the lives of those you likely will never meet, and never see again. In some cases, little can be learned from what you see, in other cases, you encounter an open book.

In this particular fleeting instant, we see two people who contrast in every observable way. So much is said, without us hearing a word; we have no idea what they discussed, but we do have an insight into who they are.
