When I logged into my MSDN account recently, I found the most interesting thing: Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1. I just couldn’t resist installing it on my development system. While the interface still needs work, it seems fairly stable for a beta. They have finally added support for tabbed browsing – something that helped Firefox quickly gain market share. Also new is the much hyped Phishing Filter, in my rather limited testing, it seems to be an interesting feature, though not nearly as revolutionary as some have said.
All in all, the new version of IE seems to have promise, but needs work before going public.
