Time once again, for a WordPress update, the software that powers this site. This is primary a security update, fixing a few nasty issues as well as cleaning up some other things (here’s the breakdown). If you are running a WordPress blog, I’d recommend going for the update.

It’s a painless update, and so far seems quite stable.

After 2 years, my favorite forum software has been officially released. I’ve been a big fan of bbPress since it’s early days, I even had at least one patch accepted. So I guess one could say I was a developer on the project (although, a very minor one).

It’s great to see this project make it. If you’re looking for high-quality PHP-based forum solution without the weight of something like vB, then bbPress is the answer.

It’s upgrade time again, WordPress 2.0.4 has been released (changed files list & zip), and after a fairly painless upgrade (instructions, though I didn’t follow the method they suggest), seems quite stable. This release sports over 60 changes, clearing up a fair number of small issues, as well as a few security fixes.

If you have a WordPress powered blog, it’s worth the upgrade.

The WordPress team has released 2.0.3 of the massively popular blogging software. The primary reason is a security fix, but also includes a few performance tweaks. The install process was fairly painless thanks to the work of Mark Jaquith, using the provided patch reduced the total upgrade time to under an hour.

For the average WordPress user that doesn’t have any modified files, the install should take only a couple minutes. It’s a very simple process, if you haven’t updated, you should.
